NICHOLAS WUEHRMANN

 

Nicholas Wuehrmann is an actor/singer/director living in New York City.  He performs in and directs musical theatre, operetta, and opera, and is well versed in Shakespeare, film and television.    He also teaches voice and acting.  Some of his other interests include photography, hiking, travel, zoos, and character makeup design.  Check out his resume, headshots, directing highlight videos and more.  Thanks for stopping by!

Nicholas recently appeared in the film BLACKkKLANSMAN.  He can also be seen in ST. VINCENT as St. Nicholas of Sunnyside (honored firefighter) and as a Swiss Customs Official in THE WOLF OF WALL STREET.














CELEBRITY GHOST STORIES, with Nicholas playing the role of Bruce Davison, played on the Biography Channel.  REDRUM, on Investigation Discovery Channel, starred Nicholas as the murder victim, Timothy Wicks in the episode entitled “A Deadly Beat”.  Both shows are currently in reruns - check for local listings.  Check out excerpts in Nicholas’s demo reel!

UPCOMING DIRECTING:  Nicholas will helm Tri-Cities Opera’s production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s H.M.S. PINAFORE in April, 2019.


UPCOMING PERFORMING:  Nicholas will reprise the role of Tamino in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE für JUNG und ALT in a European Tour (Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg) in December 2018 and January 2019.  He directed this production in 2007 and it has been touring to great success and acclaim ever since!













Nicholas recently performed the roles of Mr. Box in COX AND BOX and The Learned Judge in TRIAL BY JURY (and directed both!) with Delaware Valley Opera (August of 2018).    “Wuehrmann owns the material, taking the audience with him on a one-act roller coaster ride.”  See the great review here!  And check out a reprise performance of both one-acts at the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of New York on September 15, 2018.

Nicholas recently directed and choreographed STREET SCENE (Weill, Hughes and Rice) and DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES (Poulenc) at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Gilbert & Sullivan) at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, SWEET CHARITY (Coleman, Fields and Simon) at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, and THE GONDOLIERS (Gilbert & Sullivan) at University of Iowa in Iowa City.
